28 Jan Caught on Camera: Teens Steal Hemp Flower from our St. Petersburg Dispensary Location After Being Asked to Leave
Last night (January 27, 2026, around 9:00 PM), something happened at our St. Petersburg Chillum location that perfectly captures the phrase “you can’t make this stuff up.”
Three teenagers walked into Chillum Mushroom and Hemp Dispensary and were immediately asked to leave by our Hemptender. Why? Because she did her job. She clocked right away that they weren’t 21 and told them—politely and clearly—that they needed to exit the store.
So far, so good. Rules followed. Responsible retailing. End of story, right?
Not exactly.
Instead of leaving, the three teenagers decided to protest… by wandering around the store in what can only be described as a poorly choreographed distraction dance. While our Hemptender continued to calmly and repeatedly ask them to leave, one of them made a move: grab a jar of hemp flower and bolt.
Then another.
Then the third.
One by one, each teenager grabbed a jar and ran out the door like it was some kind of low-budget relay race. The entire thing is caught on video. No masks. No subtlety. No shame.
Ironically—and this part still makes us laugh a little through the frustration—they didn’t even take any mushrooms. At a mushroom and hemp dispensary. Just hemp flower. Missed opportunity? Wrong store? We may never know.
What makes this even more frustrating is that our Hemptender didn’t immediately realize what was happening. She was focused on enforcing age restrictions and keeping the situation from escalating. It’s only when the last one runs out that you can see the realization—and the very human frustration—hit.
Thankfully, no one was hurt. But yes, it sucks.
A police report was filed with the St. Petersburg Police Department.
Case Number: 003122
Watch the Video
We’ve released the surveillance footage because accountability matters—and honestly, because if someone recognizes these kids, that helps everyone.

This Might Not Be an Isolated Incident
This wasn’t the first time something like this happened. In a prior incident, two teenagers ran into the store, grabbed jars of hemp flower, and ran out. Same vibe. Same move. Same result.
Law enforcement believes the two incidents could be related.

If You Know Something, Say Something
If you recognize anyone in either video, please contact the St. Petersburg Police Department directly. We’re not looking for internet justice—we’re looking for accountability and for this nonsense to stop.
A Final Thought
We train our staff to prioritize safety and follow the law. Our Hemptender did exactly that. Unfortunately, doing the right thing doesn’t always stop people from doing the wrong thing—but cameras are undefeated.
We’ll keep doing what we do: operating responsibly, enforcing age requirements, and showing up for our community. And yes, we’ll probably laugh about the “distraction dance” one day… just not today.
Stay safe. Stay legal. And maybe don’t try to rob a store on camera.
