27 Apr Mike Tyson’s CBD Company Could Rename Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium
FC Barcelona announced last week, for the first time ever, they will be selling the naming rights to their stadium. The money earned from renaming the famous stadium will go to efforts for combatting COVID-19. Nou Camp Stadium has been the team’s home since 1957 and has never sold the naming rights. The club’s foundation, called Barca Foundation, has been given the task of finding a sponsor for 2020-2021.
One of the first potential sponsors is a company called Swissx. Swissx is a cannabis company that is so owned by the famous former boxer Mike Tyson.
Tyson’s co-owner and business partner, Alki David, says, “It’s something we’ve specifically been looking for to adopt in our company and it seemed like an amazing idea.”
“Spain has a long tradition within the European Union as being a leader or a liberal in the road towards legalization, so it’s evolved quite naturally,” he adds.
Not only is it a possibility that one of the world’s most famous sports team home stadium could be named after a cannabis company. But it’s also possible that their CBD line could be sold at concession stands.
